Be a part of NACIS 2025
in Louisville, Kentucky!

The 2025 NACIS Annual Meeting will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, October 15-18. We invite you to submit abstract proposals for presentations in the Main Conference or Practical Cartography Day or to organize specialty themed sessions, discussion panels, workshops and field trips. We encourage you to propose ideas, topics, themes, and concepts covering anything and everything related to cartography.

Practical Cartography Day*

Present your newest mapping tips, methods, processes or design ideas at this popular all-day single track event focused on practical mapmaking in all formats and mediums on Wednesday October 14th before the Main Conference. Questions about PCD? Email pcd@nacis.org.

Main Conference

Share your cartographic accomplishments, research, or ideas with the NACIS community during our main sessions on Thursday and Friday. Be sure to consult our website for specific guidelines when writing and submitting your abstract. Questions about submitting or presenting? Email veep@nacis.org.

Map Gallery

Bring your maps to Louisville to show off your best cartographic designs, experimental techniques, or research. Questions about submitting to the Map Gallery? Email posters@nacis.org.

Student Print and Dynamic Map competitions

Students entering their maps in the print and/or dynamic mapping competitions are eligible to win cash prizes! Questions about submitting to the competitions? Email posters@nacis.org.

Workshops and field trips*

Organize a post-conference mapping workshop, or field trip in the Louisville area. Have a great idea? Email veep@nacis.org.

2025 International Cartographic Exhibition submissions are due soon

This year’s juried International Cartographic Exhibition, part of the ICC in Vancouver, will run August 18-22nd. Entries can be in any of the following six categories: maps, charts, atlases, educational cartographic products, physical cartographic products, and digital cartographic products and services (see the website for details).

United States participants: you must send your name and the category of the map you plan to submit to Darren Sears as soon as possible before April 15th. Please click here for more details.

GoGeomatics Canada has launched a survey on geopolitical realignments & the geospatial industry, and are gathering insights on how shifting global alliances, trade dynamics, and economic changes are impacting Canada’s geospatial sector.
