Final call for 2026 Mentor Program: Mentors needed!

The NACIS Mentor Program is recruiting more mentors to round out this year’s program. We have a large number of excited mentees who would benefit from your knowledge and guidance. Without more mentor volunteers, we won’t be able to serve all our mentee candidates.

If you’re an experienced professional, please consider joining the NACIS Mentor Program to make a lasting impact on the next generation of cartographers and GIS professionals. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to give back to the community, share your passion, and help shape the future of cartography. Please consider volunteering again if you enjoyed being a mentor in the past.

To volunteer as a mentor, log into the NACIS website, review the program details, and complete the application form (NACIS membership is required). The more detail you include on the application, the higher the likelihood that the Mentor Program coordinators will provide a good match.

Deadline to apply: February 17.

Pairing announcements will be emailed out by March 10, and the program lasts for six months (one meeting a month).

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee meets the second Thursday of each month at 5pm Pacific / 8pm Eastern. The next meeting is on March 12th. Our meetings are always open to everyone. Join to learn about our DEI initiatives or propose your own. Schedule changes and meeting links are shared on Slack and you can email veep@nacis.org with questions.
