NACIS on YouTube

The NACIS YouTube channel is a growing library of more than 1,000 talks from across the cartographic community, dating back to 2016. Explore presentations from NACIS Annual Meetings and Practical Cartography Day (PCD) featuring cartographers, designers, researchers, developers, educators, and students sharing their work, ideas, tools, techniques, and cartographic experiments.

Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, find some inspiration for your next map, revisit a talk you loved, or discover something you missed, there’s plenty to explore.

What you’ll find:

• Practical cartography. Techniques, workflows, tools, tutorials, and lessons for, and from, making maps by expert cartographers.
• Cartographic research. Discover new ideas and approaches from researchers and practitioners across and beyond the field of cartography.
• Design and storytelling. Learn about visual communication, aesthetics, narrative, and different mapmaking practices.
• Tools and technology. Find emerging software, web mapping and data visualization tools, and cartographic workflows.
• Keynote talks. Reflect on spaces, places, communities, and their representations with critical cartographers, theorists, authors, and practitioners.

These videos are a particularly great resource for educators and students: share a talk in class, explore how professionals approach a problem, and hear directly from people working in and across the many corners of the mapping world.
