NACIS depends on its friends for support

We are a community of map-makers, educators and students, technologists, and map-lovers from every walk of life. We gather at our annual meeting, on online networks, and in the pages of NACIS publications. We share ideas and techniques, support emerging map professionals and students, and celebrate all the ways maps can be a powerful tool for good in the world.

We are committed to keeping our activities accessible, and affordable or free. Membership dues and conference fees keep the organization rolling, but gifts like yours let us keep NACIS open to all.

Give to NACIS

Giving to NACIS:

  • Supports the next generation of cartography. Travel grants and student awards bring emerging cartographers to the table who otherwise couldn’t join us. Our mentoring program connects early- and mid-career professionals with experienced practitioners to move their work forward with confidence.

  • Keeps cartographic knowledge free and accessible. Cartographic Perspectives, NACIS’s open-access scholarly journal, and Natural Earth, the free global geographic dataset used by mapmakers worldwide, both depend on community support to stay available to everyone.

  • Sustains the connections that make our work better. The tools and tricks we pick up at the conference and from Cartographic Perspectives are important, but so are the relationships formed out of conversations, sharing our work, and learning from one another. Keeping that community broad and open to everyone feeds the life of that exchange.
