Seeking nominations for Board members

Nominations are open for the NACIS Board. Are you looking to make a difference, get more involved with NACIS, or give back in 2025? Nominate yourself or someone else for the Board! We’re looking for nominees for Student Board Member, Directors at Large, and for the four-year presidential track. Whether you’re a longtime member or new to NACIS, share your expertise, promote causes you care about, and help shape the future of the Society by joining the Board. The deadline for nominations is January 31st.

After the deadline, the Nominations Committee will reach out to all nominees to confirm their interest and request a biography and candidate statement for the ballot. The election by secret ballot will occur in September, and the candidate(s) with the largest number of votes will be elected. All candidates will be notified of the election results prior to the annual meeting.

Serving on the Board is a two-year commitment. Directors participate in virtual and in-person board meetings throughout the year, serve on committees, help organize the annual conference and other NACIS events, and perform outreach. Our volunteer Board is in constant need of new energy and ideas to keep the organization healthy and growing.

Please reach out to the Nominations Committee or any current or former Board member if you have questions about the Board member positions or the nominations process.

There will be activities for both riders and non-riders to celebrate Carl’s legacy.

We invite all NACIS members to join us for this special event. If you are interested in being part of the planning committee, especially for GIS-related activities like mapmaking or orienteering, please contact Keith Cich. More event details to come.
