NACIS membership

Membership options

The North American Cartographic Information Society (NACIS) invites you to join our professional society in the field of cartography and geographic information. Joining as a society member is the first step to getting involved.

While many of the society’s programs are open to all, members-only benefits include:

• Member registration rates for the annual meeting
• Discounts on the Atlas of Design
• Participation in our career-oriented mentoring program
• Eligibility for travel grants

We use a rolling subscription method, where your membership is valid for one full year from the date of enrollment.

• Regular membership is an individual one-person membership.
• Student membership is for any student enrolled (full or part time) in a diploma- or degree-granting program at the time of joining or renewing membership.
• Affiliate membership is for organizations, and includes two voting memberships and two member registration rates for the annual meeting.

Membership fees are the primary way we fund the many activities of our society. Your support is what keeps us going! But we want to keep membership accessible to everyone, including students and early professionals. That’s why we also ask for support through annual giving and conference sponsorships. We welcome your contributions to keep NACIS affordable and accessible to all!

Tribal membership fee waiver

NACIS will waive annual meeting membership fees for individuals who are enrolled members or citizens of a federally recognized Tribe with historical or present day ties to the conference area. Please contact the Business Committee for more information.
